Dear Mr. Levine,
I think you have not done extensive study on the June 4, riot. Please tell me how do the students fight for democracy during that time. From what I knew, the students went on a hunger strike to ask to meeting with the government. The government had 2 official meetings one on May 14 and the other on the 18th and some small meets with them. In these two meetings the student walked out half way from the meeting without any reason. Don't you think it is very strange, the student fought so hard to get the meeting with the government. Why would they gave up the meeting so easily. After those meetings they said they refuse to talk to the government any more. Please tell me, how they could achieve the fight for democracy peacefully and legally?
Consider 25 years ago, Chinese government is willing to talk to the people. It was a very open government. Let's look at the 60s when Martin Luther King said "I had a dream". What did your government do. You might say that, it was 20 years before that time. Well lets look at 2008 - 9 when the people "occupying wall street" what did your government do. Kick them out. Did the Chinese government do anything wrong, on their response to the student.
If you could tell me, what did the students really wants from the demonstration.
Over the years, all you guys just heard only one voice. You never gave the other voice a chance. It is very bad. For you as a scholar, I hope you could do more research on the subject in order to raise the issue. I want to tell you that the information I’ve got is readily in the public. It is depends on the individual’s way to read the information. It could be a little difficult for you because most of the information is in Chinese. You can ask the Chinese signatories in your website the questions I asked. See if they could have the answer to it.
I am looking forward to have your feedback on this any have a dialogue on the subject.
"Expect bleeding," "I can not tell them", "joint provinces autonomy", "June 6th Hunan announced autonomy", " If the Government barely managed to cling on the power, they will collapse very soon", "Now the square is our last ground, if we fail to hold, China would be reborn", "I think the ultimate is to overthrow this inhumane, no longer represents the interests of the people’s government ". What is this? Downright coup？ They want to overthrow the government.？Student Leaders have no intention to tell students what their plan? How and why do they walk out from the talks twice? Why continue hold on the square after walked out from the talks? Students do not know all this. Those innocent students always thought they are fighting for democracy from the government only and do not know the leaders have other purposes, therefore give them support. Ask the students and Tiananmen mothers, if they know it is a coup to overthrow the government, would they support? If yes, then don’t ask the government to appeal. If no, then ask the student why don’t they them what was their plot. The poor naive patriotic students were betrayed and sold by their leaders. Also were accused of revolutionary. This is what she meant by “I want to go on to survive. Students on the square, I think they can only stay till the end, waiting for the Government inevitably had to bloodbath.”
