Ding Zilin, the founder and leader of the Tiananmen Mothers wrote a book in 2005 about the victims of the Tiananmen Massacre. Over the course of the next two weeks, we will be releasing excerpts from the book in English.

This set of images bears witness to history. They will forever stand as symbols of the bloodshed and terror that occurred in China’s capital on June 4th, 1989, as well as the depths of ruthlessness, tyranny and inhumanity exercised in that massacre.
Lying amongst the dead in these pictures is a young man by the name of Du Guangxue. His corpse had been casually labeled “#30.”
